Why we standardised on Reolink for mid-tier installs

Reolink's RLC-1212A and Duo 3 give you genuine 4K/12MP imaging, on-camera AI person/vehicle/animal detection, and full ONVIF compatibility — for roughly half the price of Hikvision and a quarter of Axis. For a typical Perth family home, it's the best value per pixel we can buy.

Where Reolink falls short is at the very high end (Axis still wins for thermal, low-light and forensic detail) and in commercial multi-NVR deployments (UniFi Protect scales better). We'll tell you when one of those is the right call instead.

Which Reolink camera should I get?

For most homes: RLC-1212A (12MP turret) on the perimeter, Duo 3 on driveways (dual-lens, 16MP combined), TrackMix on the front door (PTZ + fixed). Recorded to an RLN16-410 NVR.

Will Reolink work with my UniFi network?

Yes — we put cameras on their own VLAN with no internet access by default, then expose the NVR's remote viewing through a single Reolink Argus tunnel or your UniFi gateway.
