Climate Control

The standard Perth ducted install has one thermostat in the hallway and 4-6 zones on manual dampers. That's a 2010 setup and it wastes 30-40% of the running cost. We upgrade to per-room temperature sensors, motorised dampers on every zone, and central control that opens and closes zones based on real occupancy.

The immediate impact: the master bedroom is cool at 10pm without cooling three empty kids' rooms all day.

If you have solar - and in Perth, roughly 40% of homes do - your climate system should run hardest when the sun is generating. We schedule pre-cooling and pre-heating around the solar generation curve and Synergy's time-of-use tariff so the aircon does its heaviest work between 10am and 3pm, not during the 3-9pm peak.

For homes with battery storage we go further, using battery reserve to run the aircon through the peak tariff window entirely.

Modern homes leak less air, which means CO₂, humidity and VOCs build up unless actively ventilated. We fit CO₂ sensors, humidity sensors and (in new builds) heat-recovery ventilation so the house stays comfortable in a way a thermostat alone can't measure.

This matters most in the bedroom: sleep quality is dramatically affected by CO₂ above 1,500ppm, and most Perth bedrooms sit far above that overnight.
