Artificial intelligence in the home isn't a gimmick. Done well, it disappears. Lights warm down at sundown. The garage door closes when the last car leaves. Cameras flag what matters and ignore what doesn't.

Our engineers tune AI behaviours to your household - not a generic profile, so the system feels personal from week one.

The heart of a modern AI-driven home is a local hub - Home Assistant, Apple Home, or a Control4 or Crestron controller - that watches presence, time, weather and device state and makes small, sensible decisions on your behalf. Not sci-fi decisions. Small ones. Turn the porch light on at civil dusk because the sun set behind cloud today. Nudge the aircon on because the forecast just changed. Arm the perimeter cameras because everyone's phone left Perth an hour ago.

AI camera analysis is the other half. Modern Ubiquiti Protect, Reolink AI and Hikvision AcuSense cameras run object detection locally on the camera itself - so 'person in the driveway at 2am' triggers a phone alert, but 'possum on the fence at 2am' does not. That's the single biggest quality-of-life change we deliver: notifications that mean something, not a hundred false alerts a night.

Everything we deploy is local-first. Your camera feeds, presence data and behaviour patterns do not go to a US cloud. That's a deliberate architectural choice, not a marketing line - and it's why our systems keep working when Ring, Nest and Arlo go dark during their (frequent) cloud outages.

Notifications that only fire when they matter.

The single most complained-about problem in DIY smart homes is alert fatigue. A hundred notifications a day, none of them urgent. Our AI camera setups filter aggressively at the edge - person, vehicle, package, animal, license plate - so only the events you actually want to know about hit your phone.

For businesses we go further: after-hours zones, uniform detection, loitering, tailgating at the entry door.

Presence and routine that shape the whole house.

The house should know when it's empty, when it's full, when it's just you home from work early. We combine phone geofencing, motion sensors and door-event history to build a genuinely accurate presence model - then feed that into lighting, climate, security and audio scenes.

The result feels like the house is quietly paying attention, not that it's spying. There's no cloud tracking, no third-party ad platform - all the presence logic runs locally.

Local-first, private by design.

Every AI system we install runs on hardware you own, in your house. Home Assistant on a NUC, Ubiquiti UDM for camera analytics, Apple Home hubs for HomeKit. No mandatory cloud subscriptions, no monthly camera fees, no vendor turning the lights off because you didn't renew.

You get remote access via a VPN or the vendor's optional cloud - your choice, not a lock-in.

Does the AI work if my internet drops?

Yes - presence, lighting, climate and camera detection all run locally. Only remote phone access needs the internet.

How is this different from Ring or Nest?

Ring and Nest run their AI in their cloud and charge monthly. Ours runs on hardware in your house with no ongoing fee and no US-cloud dependency.

Can it recognise family members?

Yes - Apple Home and Ubiquiti Protect both do face recognition locally. We enable it only with your explicit consent.

How long before the system 'learns' the household?

Rule-based routines work from day one. Learned presence patterns settle within 2-3 weeks of normal use.
