Ring Doorbell Installation Guide — Perth
Hardwired, proper chime, no Wi-Fi drama.
Overview
How a Ring doorbell should be installed in a Perth home — hardwired transformer, proper internal chime, and Wi-Fi coverage that actually reaches the front door.
A Ring doorbell needs three things to work properly: 16–24V AC at the button, a compatible internal chime (or Ring Chime Pro), and a strong Wi-Fi signal at the front door. Get any of these wrong and you get the dropouts and missed events that give DIY installs a bad name.
We hardwire every Ring with a dedicated 16V 30VA transformer in the meter box or ceiling, so the battery never has to work. Battery-only installs die in Perth summers and miss the events that matter.
For the chime: we either reuse the existing mechanical chime (with Ring's Pro Power Kit) or fit a Ring Chime Pro that also boosts Wi-Fi to the front door. The Chime Pro is usually the better answer in brick homes where Wi-Fi struggles.
Typical install in Perth: $280–$420 supplied and fitted, including transformer, Chime Pro and full app setup. Same-day appointments most weeks.
