What a smart home installer actually does
A proper smart home installer designs the system end-to-end - lighting, climate, blinds, audio, video, security, access and network - as one integrated platform, then installs and programs it so every part talks to every other part through a single interface.
That means one app (or one keypad) turns everything on for movie night, drops the blinds when the sun hits the north side, arms the alarm when the last person leaves, and lets you check the driveway camera from your phone at the airport.
Half the job is the wiring nobody sees - Cat6A to every device, PoE switching, VLAN segmentation, a labelled patch panel and an AV rack that a future installer can actually work on. This is where budget installers cut corners and where the system falls over in year three.
