Load balancing matters more than the charger brand
A 7.4kW charger on a single-phase 80A supply can trip the main breaker the first time you run the dryer, oven and car together. Every Tesla Wall Connector install we deliver includes a switchboard load assessment and either: (a) a CT clamp on the main feed that dynamically throttles the charger when household load is high, or (b) a Tesla Gateway that pairs the charger with Powerwall to use solar export first, grid second.
Without this, the charger 'works' but causes intermittent trips, frustrated drivers and eventually a callout to add load management after the fact — at twice the cost of doing it once on install day.
