Tesla Wall Connector Installation Perth

Authorised Tesla install, properly load-balanced.

Overview

Tesla Wall Connector installation across Perth - Gen 3 hardware, properly load-balanced with your switchboard and integrated with solar export.

The Tesla Wall Connector is the best charger for any Tesla and works with every other EV via the included J1772 adapter. We install the Gen 3 unit on single-phase (up to 7.4kW) and three-phase (up to 22kW) supplies across Perth.

Every install includes proper load balancing with your switchboard - so the house doesn't trip when the dryer, oven and car charger run together. Solar-prioritised charging is set up where you have a compatible inverter (Fronius, SolarEdge, Tesla Powerwall).

Typical install: $1,200–$1,800 single-phase, $2,200–$3,200 three-phase, supplied and installed by a licensed Perth electrician.

Load balancing matters more than the charger brand

A 7.4kW charger on a single-phase 80A supply can trip the main breaker the first time you run the dryer, oven and car together. Every Tesla Wall Connector install we deliver includes a switchboard load assessment and either: (a) a CT clamp on the main feed that dynamically throttles the charger when household load is high, or (b) a Tesla Gateway that pairs the charger with Powerwall to use solar export first, grid second.

Without this, the charger 'works' but causes intermittent trips, frustrated drivers and eventually a callout to add load management after the fact - at twice the cost of doing it once on install day.

Tesla - what you actually get

Every tesla project starts with a proper on-site consultation. We measure, mark cable runs, photograph switchboards and talk through how the household actually uses the space, so the tesla quote we hand you is fixed in writing before a tool is lifted.

Every job is scheduled around your household. We start when we say we'll start, we tidy up before we leave, and we don't book more work into a day than the crew can properly finish. The result is fewer variations, cleaner finishes, and less disruption to family life.

Our workshop is in Nedlands on Stirling Highway, which keeps site visits across the metro fast and keeps our warranty response tight. When something needs adjusting - a new phone paired, a scene re-tuned, a device swapped, the same crew who did the original work is the one who drives back out.

We invest heavily in training. Every technician on the team holds the manufacturer certifications for the platforms they install, and we keep our tooling - thermal cameras, cable certifiers, calibrated meters, torque drivers, at commercial-fit-out standard. That's why our first-time-right rate sits above the industry norm.

Documentation matters. Every install ships with an as-built pack: cable schedule, device inventory with serial numbers, network map, credentials in a sealed envelope, and warranty paperwork. If ownership of the house ever changes, everything the next owner or their electrician needs is already in one folder.

Why Perth homeowners choose SmartSpace for Tesla

We're picky about the brands we specify. Every product on our shelf has been used in the field long enough for us to know its real failure modes, its firmware quirks, and its long-term serviceability. If a cheaper option is honestly the better fit for your brief, we'll say so and quote it.

Aftercare is where most installers fall down and where we've built our reputation. Direct-line phone support from the crew who did the work, remote diagnostics on supported systems, and a fast-lane callout schedule for existing clients. The relationship doesn't end at handover.

FAQs

Frequently asked.

Quick answers to what Perth clients ask most. Anything we haven't covered? Get in touch.

Do I need a three-phase Tesla Wall Connector?

Only if you have three-phase mains and a car that accepts 22kW AC (Tesla Model S/X). Model 3 and Y top out at 11kW AC even on a three-phase charger, so single-phase 7.4kW is usually enough.

How long does a Tesla Wall Connector install take in Perth?

Single-phase: 3–4 hours, typically $1,200–$1,800 all-in. Three-phase: half to full day, $2,200–$3,200 if existing three-phase, more if mains upgrade required.

Will it charge non-Tesla EVs?

Yes - every Gen 3 Wall Connector ships with a J1772 adapter that handles every non-Tesla EV sold in Australia.
