Three-phase 22kW charging adds 100km of range per hour — three times faster than single-phase. Worth doing if you have an EV that accepts 22kW AC (Tesla Model S/X, Renault Zoe, Audi e-tron) and you do daily long-distance kilometres.

We check your existing supply (most older Perth homes are single-phase only), arrange the Western Power three-phase upgrade if needed, and install Wallbox Pulsar Max, Zappi 2.1 or Tesla Wall Connector units.

Is the upgrade worth it?

Honest answer: only if (a) you have an EV that actually accepts 22kW AC — Tesla Model S/X, Audi e-tron, Renault Zoe — and (b) you do daily long-distance kilometres. A Model 3 or Y caps at 11kW AC regardless of the charger; a 22kW install is wasted on it.

The exception is multi-EV households (two cars, both wanting to charge overnight) and tradespeople with high daily km. For everyone else, single-phase 7.4kW adds 40km of range per hour — enough to fully refill overnight for the average Perth driver.

Is my home three-phase or single-phase?

Look at your meter — three black phase wires (red, white, blue) means three-phase. Most pre-2000 Perth homes are single-phase only. We confirm during the site visit.

How much does a Western Power three-phase upgrade cost?

Typically $3,000–$6,000 if the street has three-phase available, $8,000–$15,000 if a transformer or new feeder is needed. We coordinate the application and the install.

Which 22kW charger should I get?

Wallbox Pulsar Max for the cleanest app and load balancing, Zappi 2.1 if you want solar-only charging modes, Tesla Wall Connector for a Tesla owner who wants the simplest hardware. We're authorised for all three.
