Three-Phase EV Charger Installation Perth - 22kW

Faster charging, properly engineered.

Overview

Three-phase 22kW EV charger installation across Perth - Tesla, Wallbox, Zappi and Ocular units installed on existing three-phase supply or with mains upgrade.

Three-phase 22kW charging adds 100km of range per hour - three times faster than single-phase. Worth doing if you have an EV that accepts 22kW AC (Tesla Model S/X, Renault Zoe, Audi e-tron) and you do daily long-distance kilometres.

We check your existing supply (most older Perth homes are single-phase only), arrange the Western Power three-phase upgrade if needed, and install Wallbox Pulsar Max, Zappi 2.1 or Tesla Wall Connector units.

Typical install on existing three-phase: $2,400–$3,500. With mains upgrade and switchboard work: $5,500–$8,500.

Is the upgrade worth it?

Honest answer: only if (a) you have an EV that actually accepts 22kW AC - Tesla Model S/X, Audi e-tron, Renault Zoe, and (b) you do daily long-distance kilometres. A Model 3 or Y caps at 11kW AC regardless of the charger; a 22kW install is wasted on it.

The exception is multi-EV households (two cars, both wanting to charge overnight) and tradespeople with high daily km. For everyone else, single-phase 7.4kW adds 40km of range per hour - enough to fully refill overnight for the average Perth driver.

Three-Phase - what you actually get

Every three-phase project starts with a proper on-site consultation. We measure, mark cable runs, photograph switchboards and talk through how the household actually uses the space, so the three-phase quote we hand you is fixed in writing before a tool is lifted.

Our senior crew is what makes the difference on a three-phase install. Licensed electricians and data-cabling technicians work in our own vans, never sub-contracted out, which is why every job carries a full 10-year workmanship warranty.

We treat Three-Phase as an engineered install, not a retail box shift - proper Cat6 or Cat6A cabling, weatherproof enclosures where hardware sits outside, tidy switchboard labelling, and a documented as-built handover pack you can hand to the next electrician.

Pricing for Three-Phase is transparent and honest. We publish typical ranges, walk you through hardware options in plain English, and never bolt on monthly cloud subscriptions or vendor lock-ins after the fact.

Every job is scheduled around your household. We start when we say we'll start, we tidy up before we leave, and we don't book more work into a day than the crew can properly finish. The result is fewer variations, cleaner finishes, and less disruption to family life.

Why Perth homeowners choose SmartSpace for Three-Phase

Our workshop is in Nedlands on Stirling Highway, which keeps site visits across the metro fast and keeps our warranty response tight. When something needs adjusting - a new phone paired, a scene re-tuned, a device swapped, the same crew who did the original work is the one who drives back out.

We invest heavily in training. Every technician on the team holds the manufacturer certifications for the platforms they install, and we keep our tooling - thermal cameras, cable certifiers, calibrated meters, torque drivers, at commercial-fit-out standard. That's why our first-time-right rate sits above the industry norm.

Documentation matters. Every install ships with an as-built pack: cable schedule, device inventory with serial numbers, network map, credentials in a sealed envelope, and warranty paperwork. If ownership of the house ever changes, everything the next owner or their electrician needs is already in one folder.

We're picky about the brands we specify. Every product on our shelf has been used in the field long enough for us to know its real failure modes, its firmware quirks, and its long-term serviceability. If a cheaper option is honestly the better fit for your brief, we'll say so and quote it.

Aftercare is where most installers fall down and where we've built our reputation. Direct-line phone support from the crew who did the work, remote diagnostics on supported systems, and a fast-lane callout schedule for existing clients. The relationship doesn't end at handover.

FAQs

Frequently asked.

Quick answers to what Perth clients ask most. Anything we haven't covered? Get in touch.

Is my home three-phase or single-phase?

Look at your meter - three black phase wires (red, white, blue) means three-phase. Most pre-2000 Perth homes are single-phase only. We confirm during the site visit.

How much does a Western Power three-phase upgrade cost?

Typically $3,000–$6,000 if the street has three-phase available, $8,000–$15,000 if a transformer or new feeder is needed. We coordinate the application and the install.

Which 22kW charger should I get?

Wallbox Pulsar Max for the cleanest app and load balancing, Zappi 2.1 if you want solar-only charging modes, Tesla Wall Connector for a Tesla owner who wants the simplest hardware. We're authorised for all three.
